Tim Mills

Tim Mills has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Electric Research and Manufacturing Cooperative, Inc. (ERMCO) since Jan. 1, 2021. During his tenure with ERMCO, the company has continued to lead the transformer market in production growth with a reputation for unparalleled service and quality. Under the leadership of Mills, ERMCO has deployed long-term strategic growth strategies, including the acquisition of Spire Power Solutions in December 2022. Mills helped crystallize ERMCO’s vision of becoming the Most Valued Partner in the utility industry, serving cooperatives, municipalities, and investor-owned utilities (IOUs).

Throughout his career, Mills has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead transformative growth strategies, build high-performing teams, and deliver results. With experience spanning a variety of industries, he has successfully led operations and market expansion efforts at major organizations, including True Value, HD Supply, Bankers Life and General Electric. His expertise includes revenue management, operational excellence, and analytics, enabling companies to grow while optimizing performance and efficiency.

Mills is an optimistic risk-taker and a champion for businesses and rural America. He is passionate about challenging the status quo to drive innovation and build lasting success. Mills’ leadership is marked by a commitment to long-term growth, creating value for stakeholders, and fostering inclusive, collaborative teams.

Mills earned a master’s in business administration from Northern Illinois University’s College of Business and his bachelor’s in management from the United States Air Force Academy, where he was named the Outstanding Scholar Athlete and top graduate from the Management Department.  He is married with five children and five grandchildren.
