LOW VOLTAGE ARRESTERS

Transformers Components manufactures a distributing lightning arrester for the low voltage side of single and three phase distribution transformers. The arrester may be used with pole and padmount distribution transformer applications.

Single Phase Low Voltage Arrester

ECI manufactures a distribution lightning arrester for the low voltage side of single and three phase distribution transformers. The arrester may be used with pole and pad mounted distribution transformer applications.

Arrester voltage options are:

Single Phase

o   120/240 volt

o   277 volt

Three Phase

o   208Y/120 volt

o   480Y/277 volt

The arrester has been designed and tested in accordance with ANSI/IEEE Standard C62.11 Light Duty Distribution Class requirements. Being a true distribution class lightning arrester, the transformer is offered optimal protection against low side surges.

Studies have shown that surges can enter the low voltage side of a transformer from lightning strikes that hit the secondary service wires or from strikes hitting the primary wires if the transformer ground is above 25 ohms. A low voltage distribution class arrester can protect the transformer coil from these normally damaging lightning surges.
