John Hammerle

John Hammerle joined ERMCO in September 2024 as the company’s Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel. With 20 years of legal experience in national law firm and corporate roles, Hammerle brings a wealth of expertise to ERMCO. His areas of proficiency include commercial litigation, mediation, arbitration, labor & employment, bankruptcy, crisis management, corporate communications, intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate law. He is also a recipient of First Chair’s Top Litigation Counsel Award (2018).

Hammerle earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with high honors in Telecommunication Arts and Theatre from Butler University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the DePaul University College of Law. His relatable and pragmatic counsel, coupled with his legal acumen and strategic approach to corporate law, continue to provide valuable guidance to ERMCO’s leadership team as the company navigates an increasingly complex business environment.

In his spare time, Hammerle is an avid movie buff, watching and reviewing over 400 movies a year and having co-produced and served as production counsel on the feature film, Dead Draw (2016). For the past seven years, he has served as Chair of Saint Juliana School’s Fine Arts Association, producing the annual spring musical. He and his wife, Julie, live in Chicago, Ill., with their two children and dog.
