Your Supervisor, Clay Chambers, began his career at ERMCO in 2014 as a Pad Plant Core Press Operator. As a dependable employee eager to learn, Clay cross-trained on all the jobs in the department and was promoted to department shift leader after only one year. In 2019, he was promoted to Second Shift Supervisor. Clay has worked as Pad Plant Core Department Supervisor since 2021.

As a department supervisor, Clay pays particular attention to coaching, mentoring, and educating his team of 62 diverse employees. He likes maintaining a light atmosphere with a strong focus on safety, quality, and production. His commitment to his team's safety is his main priority. "We ensure that everyone is trained properly, we watch out for each other, and we all maintain a clean work environment," he said.

Clay enjoys working with his team, which excels when working together, understands the process, and attends to rush orders promptly.

Tell me about your journey at ERMCO.

I started at ERMCO in 2014 because of the excellent pay and benefits. I worked in the Pad Plant as a Core Press Operator. I quickly learned all of the jobs in the department. I was promoted to Department Shift Leader in 2015 and Second Shift Plant Supervisor in 2019 before accepting my position as Core Department Supervisor in 2021.

Core Department Shift Leaders
Zach Luther, 1st Shift

Zach Luther started working at ERMCO as a temporary employee in 2012. He worked in Pole Tank, Pad Line, and Core and Coil Assembly before being hired full-time by ERMCO as a Builder/Taper in the Core and Coil Department in 2013. In 2016, he transferred to the Pad Core Department, where he worked as a Core Press, Hoist, and Tranco Operator. In 2019, Zach accepted the position of Shift Leader. Zach likes his job because every day is different, and he enjoys interacting with diverse people. He also said, "I'm proud of what we do as a company. We provide power for the world, and it's a great feeling knowing we have that impact."

I was then offered the Crane Operator position in November 2018. I worked that job until February 2022, when I was promoted to Core Department Second Shift Leader. "ERMCO is one of the best-paying employers in the area. Money and financial security were factors when I initially decided to work here. Since then, I've gained perspective on how important our jobs are to our world, and when people ask, "What do you do?" I take pride in saying that I work for ERMCO."

Allen Anderson, 3rd Shift

Allen Anderson began his career at ERMCO in April 2014 as a Core Press Operator in the Pad Plant Core Department. "I started as a Core Press Operator and was subsequently trained to operate the hoist, cooling tunnel, and the tranco. I worked as a Tranco Operator for about six years and was promoted to Core Department Third Shift Leader in 2023." Allen enjoys working at ERMCO because of the "pay and benefits (especially pension plan). He also likes being part of a great team that enjoys working together.
