Q&A with Supervisor Brian Stafford
Tell me about your journey at ERMCO.

I was hired in 2013 in the Three Phase Paint Department as a Line Loader. I became Paint Department Shift Leader in 2019 and Department Supervisor of Metal Prep and Paint in 2023.

What advice would you give me for me to be successful at ERMCO?

You should show up to work everyday with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new things. You should always take pride in what you do.

What are the most important parts of my job?

Keep yourself and others safe, know what role you play on your team and do your job to the best of your ability.

What can I do as a new employee to support my team?

Always offer to help your teammates. Learn as much as possible about your job and keep an open mind to change.

Who should I speak to if I have questions, concerns, suggestions about my work environment? What is the chain of command?

Start out with your Shift Leader because they will be more visible to you. Of course, you can always reach out to me as well.

What is the best way for me to communicate with you?

I have an open door policy. Anytime you would like to talk I will always be open to your ideas, questions or concerns.

If I can't make it to work, what do I do?

If you work in the Paint Department, you should call 731-288-2487. If you work in the Metal Prep Department, you should call 731-288-2821. Your call will go the Shift Leader's desk phone. If no one answers, please leave a clear message with your first and last name and reason for missing work. This must be done ONE HOUR PRIOR TO YOUR SHIFT start time. Then you should go to UKG and apply for time off to cover your absence.

Tracy Livingston, 1st Shift

Tracy Livingston began her career at ERMCO in 2006 in the Three Phase Plant Paint Department as a painter and line loader. "My goal was to be all I could be for the company and to be a leader," she said. In her first nine months, she learned all jobs in the department, including quaker coating, priming, painting 2500s, maintaining small parts, cleaning wash bays, and recharging chemical baths, and she was promoted to Team Leader. "I have been an ERMCO employee for 16-plus years. The thing I like most about ERMCO is that we are a team. We work together as safely as possible to get the job done. Sometimes the paint department works around the clock to catch up, but we are a good team and understand the importance of what we do. The work environment in our department is awesome. Everybody gets along, and if there is a problem, we always work through it as a team. I would say it's because we communicate so well."
