Q&A with Supervisor Brian Akin
Tell me about your journey at ERMCO.

I worked 1.5 years as a secondary winder in Three Phase, 1 year as a primary winder and three years as a Three Phase Coil Winding Department Lead Person. I then advanced to Three Phase Second Shift Supervisor followed by Three Phase Core Coil and Internal Assembly Department Supervisor. In 2020, I moved to the Pole Plant as Core-Coil and Core Department Supervisor.

What are the most important parts of my job at ERMCO?

1. Safety. 2. Attendance. 3. Quality.

How can I support our team and add value to ERMCO?

Keep safety and quality in mind at all times. Show up to work and don't be afraid to ask questions.

What is the chain of command if I have questions, concerns or suggestions about my work environment?

Depends on the situation. As a new employee, you should start with your mentor if you're comfortable doing so. They usually know who to direct you to. You can always speak to your shift leader or myself to resolve any issues or if you have questions.

What is the best way for me to communicate with you?

I always give my office (731-288-4256) and personal number along with the shift leaders' information to members of the team.

If I can't make it to work, what do I do?

To report an absence, you should call your shift leader at 731-xxx-xxx. If they do not answer, leave a detailed message with your first and last name and reason for missing work. You must do this one hour before your shift begins.
